I love woods! Especially on a bright winter’s day. This print is based on a Hornbeam coppice very close to where I live. Hornbeam is often confused with Beech but is much better suited to the heavy Wealden clay here. I love the way the shadows fall on their smooth, elephant-like trunks in the slanting winters sun.
